Working Walls manufactured and installed acoustical wall panels for the Highland Elementary School's gymnasium for the purpose of reducing echoes. This process began by visiting their facility to take measurements, and then calculating how many square feet of product would bring the echo down to the appropriate levels, in this case reducing the echo by more than two-thirds.
Keeping those specifications in mind, we manufactured a total of 88 Class A, fire-rated panels made from 6-7 PCF fiberglass with chemically hardened edges covered with Guilford of Maine FR701 fabric. The panels were mounted to the cinderblock walls with a combination of Velcro and construction adhesive. The panels had a noise reduction coefficient of 1 .05. Each panel measured 4 foot by 10 foot. All panels were 2 inches thick, with square edge and square corner options.
